Why Buy A Good Quality Paint?

When it comes to painting your home, choosing a good quality paint has many advantages over a cheaper alternative.

Good paint goes on faster and easier. By buying a superior quality paint, you don't have to put on extra coats because the formula has better coverage. Cheaper, thinner paints require more layers to achieve the same results - adding to the amount you use and your decorator's time - making it a false economy.

Choosing Colour

There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to choosing colour, but you may find the following suggestions helpful.

Decorating a room isn't simply about finding colours you like. You need to take into account how much light the room gets, the way the space tends to be used, it's architecture, the dimensions and the overall ambience you wish to create. The period of your property may be a factor in you decorating decisions. Try not to use too many different colours or architectural features, like ceiling roses and cornices, it can look fussy and detract from the inherent beauty. Think about the flow from room to room, for example, if you have a neutral colour in a hallway leading directly to a room painted in a strong colour - the effect can be jarring.

Creating the perfect scheme is about choosing the colours you are most drawn to in your everyday life and using your intuition to select the shades you feel most comfortable living with in the long term.
